PERSONALITY:
Cal is someone who, from a very young age, was raised to be a Jedi. And his master was one who harshly emphasized discipline to a young Cal. Not only that, he refused to allow Cal to be complacent in his training, often making things more difficult for the child on the fly. Combine that with having to hide himself from an oppressive regime that was literally hunting for people like him, Cal learned to keep himself calm and composed under all situations. It would be rare to find a situation where Cal finds himself emotionally compromised and, instead, addresses all his problems one step at a time. Even when directly exposed to pain, hatred, and the dark side by living the experiences of an Inquisitor, Cal came out untainted. This is something very few can claim and a testament to his discipline.

For a while, however, Cal kept his past closed off to others. But as he learned to open up, he now finds it easy to share his past with others. Not only that, he can use it as a learning tool to help others confront their own problems, as he had done with one of his traveling companions, Cere. In sharing his own hardships, Cal has learned that he can more effectively connect with others and help them confront their own internalized issues and even work together with those he considered an enemy in recent history.

Cal can also be surprisingly empathetic. When he finds out that Cere has presented him with half-truths and lies regarding her past, he isn’t upset or even taken aback. Instead, he accepts it and understands that people have things they wish to hide. Not even for a moment does he question her and also assures her that she can take her time in explaining things properly. This same level of empathy keeps him from discriminating against those who wish to harm him. By knowing and understanding their reasons, he seeks to help resolve their issues so they can have a peaceful conclusion instead of continuing to antagonize them.

To top things off, Cal is very pragmatic and often takes the smart path rather than the emotionally driven one. When facing off against Darth Vader, who had just killed someone who was attempting to repent and seemingly threw a comrade into the lava, Cal took the first chance he had to retreat from the fight as, quite simply, Vader could wipe the floor with Cal and he knew it. Not only that but staying to fight would jeopardize his goal, protecting a holocron with held vital information.

In summary, Cal is a young but level headed individual. Despite his calm outside appearance, he relates well with others and is a kind person who many would consider great to work with.

ABILITIES/SKILLS:
Lightsaber Combat: Despite spending only 14 years under Jedi tutelage, Cal is seemingly a prodigy at lightsaber combat. Not only does he show familiarity with almost every combat form (all except Form VII), he is able to blend them together seamlessly. His ability to swap between a single bladed lightsaber to a double bladed lightsaber to using two lightsabers in the span of seconds speaks of his immense skill at lightsaber combat.

The Force: The main power behind the Jedi. Broken down, it’s basically sci-fi wizardry that often manifests itself in various powers a Jedi can use. While many Jedi are versatile in its usage, Cal is not and only possesses a few skills though one is very rare. However all Jedi can generally sense danger directed at them or the feeling of people dying en masse. What Cal can use is as follows.
->Statis: The ability to temporarily drag time to a near halt on objects and beings, slowing them down to a near crawl. This works on only on people but can function to temporarily stop fans, moving gears, and even rockets and lasers. This ability works as a single target or as an area of effect.
->Telekinesis: Cal can use the Force to push objects and beings away from him or pull them toward him. This can work as an area of effect or on a single target. Cal’s precision with this is enough that he can grab a single person, drag them toward himself, and hold them long enough to spear them with his lightsaber. He can also use this ability to throw his lightsaber or whirl it around him like a small cyclone.
->Psychometry: One of the rarest Force abilities. People who experience strong or intense emotions while using an object or in close proximity of them imprint that moment on said object in the Force. Upon touching the object, Cal then experiences that moment as if he were there. For many, this is an exceedingly dangerous ability because it becomes hard to seperate one’s own emotions from what they felt through using this ability.
->Body Enhancement: Simply put, Cal can use the Force to make himself stronger. Leap further, jump twice, run on walls, swing harder and faster with his Lightsaber…..basically anything physical can be enhanced by using the Force.

FACTION CHOICE: Moon Temple
REASON: Cal is someone who makes decisions based on knowledge and reason. He never shows cockiness or decision making based on emotion. Instead he thinks things through and applies not only his own experiences to problem solving but is no stranger to asking for help in order to come to a decision. It was his own discipline, thinking, and cool-headedness that allowed him to be elevated to a Jedi Knight.

SUITABILITY: Cal, as a child, fought in the Clone Wars with his master. After that, he survived for five years by himself on a dangerous planet scrounging for scrap to survive. Then he headed full on into a fight with the Empire. Cal has the experience and the drive to contribute to the setting and war. Both as a fighter and as moral support for those who may need it.

Revisions:
Personality: Unlike most Star Wars media, Fallen Order does not touch much on the intricacies of right and wrong, good and evil, and things taught by the Jedi council. However, that doesn't mean that type of dichotomy doesn't exist. The fact that it does means that some of what Cal does shows a mild disregard for the Jedi teachings he received as a child. The use of some of his abilities could very well be considered overly aggressive, such as using the Force to pull an enemy toward him, hold them in the air, and skewer them on his lightsaber. But that disregard could come from what Cal often holds as his highest priority, which is protecting others.

This "protection" isn't something as generic as standing between an enemy and an innocent. It is about making the correct decisions. Such as Cal destroying the holocron containing the location of all Force senstive children in the galaxy. Instead of gathering the kids and teaching them to use the Force, he destroyed the holder of their locations so they could live a normal life, unmolested by Inquisitors or Darth Vader. It is that type of hard decision that quantifies what Cal stands for. The choice he made probably wasn't the best choice for the good of the galaxy. But it as the best choice for keeping the children safe.

And as a character, Cal is very nonchalant. There are some situations where when Cal discusses his achievements, it could come off as being cocky. Yet when paired with how he generally acts, it flows as Cal treating what he did as something he should have been able to do. Something that should be moved past rather than being pat on the back and congratulated. After defeating and killing the Ninth Sister, Cal returns to his friends and drops the news as a simple one liner, grabbing a quick drink right after. He's ready to move on and continue with their mission.

That doesn't mean Cal is incapable of expressing emotion. He often suppresses his worry and anxiety about being in a tight situation, harking back to looked very nonchalant. But once he's out, there's always a big sigh of relief, a chuckle, and being glad it was all over it. He's also fully capable of outbursts of anger or disbelief but he's quick to recover and cover it up. When it looked like Darth Vader flung Cere into a lava pit, Cal couldn't help but yell. Yet the next second, he stuffs away his anger and fear to confront the man, only to retreat when he has a chance as that was Cere's last order. As it stands, concern is something that seems most visible in Cal's mannerisms and expression. It's the one thing he lets openly show, probably because he genuinely does sympathize with the people he speaks with and would prefer they know it.

So, as it stands, protecting others is one of Cal's top goals. However, the ability to help others so they can, in turn, also be of assistance to even more people is something he also works towards. It's a symbiosis of goals that work together to give drive to Cal's life to improve the galaxy in his own way. It's not quite joining a rebellion against the Empire but it is a driving force that, in its own way, works against that regime.

Suitability: Cal would be most interested in helping others on a personal level. He wouldn't be much into direct combat but he would be into assisting those affected by the war, jumping in to defend those who have no protection, and helping with aid and supplies. He would be interested in some undercover operations as he's used to working with small teams and attacking where his enemies have their back turned. Outside of these, his biggest interests would be in construction and repair. As someone who has spent five years of his life doing just that, he would be more than happy to provide help in that manner. All of that said, he would do it all in support of the Temple and not hold back his own ability to help just because he's somewhere new.
